I just saw a preview for Ghost Voyage on Sci-Fi and ... YES! Ghosts and ships at sea and a creepy guy who gives them the rules to survive which they immediately disregard! Bliss. I don't even know who "they" are. More to the point, who cares! Ghosts! On a ship! Woot!

I'm easily amused.

I don't think I mentioned that I had to buy the last disc of season 2 of Farscape again because my disc was all weird and it kept freezing in the middle of one of the episodes and the end of season 2 is utterly excellent. Anyway. I had to buy the last disc but since I had made my original purchase they've released the Starburst editions. Crap. Now I have 7 episodes on two discs instead of 4 on 2. This is seriously messing with me. Plus, the new packaging takes up a 3rd of the space of my old one. Dammit. I've re-bought all of season 2 and season 3 now. It's killing me that I'm re-buying it after all the money I spent originally. BUT! I will have much more room. I don't think I want to talk about this anymore.

Ha! Old school SG1! Daniel's hair. Too funny.

I didn't crack a book today. How does that make everyone feel? Like the world is going to end? Don't worry, I had that thought earlier when I realized that I don't even know which book I want to read next. This is what I have to say to all of you ... Shh, shh. It'll be alright.

I've had a really weird day. Can you tell? I had to pick Cole up from school around 1 because of this thing he's been fighting all week. My poor boy. He wanted to try to go to karate but I talked him out of it. Heck, if he's fighting both a headache and a stomachache why would he want to go grapple with other kids. Blech. That's sounds vaguely nauseating to me.

Dudes! I saw a picture of Morena Baccarin at Sundance and she's chopped off her hair. It's cute but it's way, way short. Maybe she's had it this way for a while but it's the first time I've seen it and it really surprised me. Of course she's still gorgeous. Damn her.

I think I've spoken my mind. I'm out.

Seriously, all I did today was read. And watch 2 episodes of Farscape.

Book #15 - Midnight Alley (The Morganville Vampires Book 3) by Rachel Caine - I'm really curious as to where this series is going to go. So far, I really like it. It's fast-paced and a little gruesome (people get stabbed and killed with alarming regularity) and it has some genuinely sweet moments. The 4th book doesn't come out for a bit so I'm going to have to WAIT to find out answers to some of the questions that have been raised. Suck.

Uggh. I have to work tomorrow. That's going to leave little time for reading. :(

I'm up to the Liars, Guns and Money trilogy in Farscape. Awesome. Completely and utterly awesome.

Work today was a joke. I had to go to the police department to retrieve some evidence from a 2003 robbery. Then I dropped some gifts off and work BFF and I did some shopping at Target. Then we went to Starbucks with a minor stop at KFC. At that point I had to go back and do some actual work, but it wasn't too brain-consuming.

And now I have a few days off. Woot!

Tomorrow, [livejournal.com profile] kimbrchick, [livejournal.com profile] malkovich03 and I are heading over to [livejournal.com profile] jenahville's for our Annual Holiday Gathering. This year's theme is Pirates of the Caribbean. We'll be watching all 3 movies and eating good food. I can't wait.

I hope I have time to journal tomorrow.

Oh, I've also managed to do a TON of wrapping today. I'm feeling so good about myself.

I'm going to head off to bed so that my early morning wake-up call won't leave me cranky.
Out.

Ahh. Watching Farscape while wrapping gifts. Awesome. I was going to try to make fudge to take to work tomorrow but that didn't quite happen. sadly. I think I'll make it on Sunday and take it in on Monday. :)

Oh. The episode I'm watching right this moment? Won't Get Fooled Again. Such fun!

By the by, have I mentioned how sick I am of working 10+ hour days? Yeah. Pretty sick of it. I've made a vow to myself that I'm going to get out of there on time tomorrow at the very least. I'm really aiming to get out early. And I think I can do it. If I focus and bend the universe to my way of thinking. Just remember, there is no spoon.

I'm wearing a Santa hat tomorrow. Stop by my branch and you'll get to see me in all my wondrous Santa-y glory. Cool.

Wow. I can't think of anything else to babble about. Therefore, I'll say goodnight.

I had a really fun time at last night's party. Almost everybody from the branch showed up AND I got to wear a Santa hat. Cool! Also, we came in under budget so the powers that be at the bank will be happy.

In other news, I've pretty much done nothing today. I watched half an ep of Farscape with Cole and then met [livejournal.com profile] malkovich03 at Best Buy to buy a GPS. I decided to head out there before Mal was ready (we were meeting there) because I wanted to wander amongst the DVDs for a bit. That may have been a bad idea as I ended up buying Labyrinth and The Neverending Story parts 1 & 2 as well as a Christmas gift for Hailey and the GPS unit. I've lazed around the house this evening watching the replaying of Tin Man with Cole.

All in all, it's been pretty mellow and fun.

Now? It's time for a meme! Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] bangaboomerang.

I am currently watching My Three Crichtons. Such fun.

Today was insane at the bank. One of my all day tellers called in sick and another one got stuck at the doctor's office. I (naturally) ended up staying until the end, even though I'd been at work since 8. Being a manager sucks sometimes.

I had something completely random to toss in here but I can't remember it now. Therefore, I think I'll veg out with John and the gang.

Out.

The fam went to get our Christmas tree today. That went well. Putting up the tree? Oh.My.Gods. We could not get the damn thing to stand up straight. Finally we decided to just throw the thing into the stand to see if it stuck and lo and behold it stood up straight. We were all getting a little bitchy by the end of that.

On a completely random note, but which somehow ties in with the above paragraph, my sister is driving me crazy again. After today's blow-up (which was not tree related, oddly enough), I'm ready for her to find her own place to live. Harsh? Maybe. But I really don't know how much longer the two of us can live in the same house and not kill each other. Truthfully, it's not so much any one thing that's happened as the fact that we're just two very different people. If we weren't related she'd never be the type of person I'd choose as a roommate. She's volatile and emotional and we seem to pick on each other a lot lately.

You know what? I'm not going to talk about this anymore today. It makes me upset. And an upset Kelly loses sentence structure.

FYI, I've watched a couple of episodes of Farscape season 2 today. Such pretty. So good. I've put Roswell on hold to delve back into John's world. Woot!

I'm done now. Later.

Okay. My computer is nominally working. I really hope this decides to post. Also, Cole has finished with his temper tantrum. I'm glad. It was making me tired.

I had so, so much to do today and I managed to get it finished fairly quickly this morning. I went to Costco and ordered a cake for Cole's birthday party (which is next Saturday!) and bought a few odds and ends for the party that will hold until then. Cole and I made our weekly run to Target for various snacks for lunches for the week. I went to Trader Joe's for healthier snacks for me. With all that out of the way, I watched 4 episodes of Farscape season 2 (which puts me through episode 6 since I watched a couple of eps the other night) while cleaning/straightening my room. Then Cole came home from the neighbor's house and we've watched 4 episodes of SGA season 2 (d'oh!).

I had a pretty awesome Sunday.

I think I'd really like Teyla and Ronon to get together on SGA. Originally, I was pulling for Teyla and Sheppard, but she and Ronon have such great chemistry that I've since changed my mind. cut for season 4 SGA spoiler )

Well, that about sums up all the thoughts inside my head. *blink, blink* Later, kids.

Book #48 (take 2) - Nimisha's Ship by Anne McCaffrey - I have a weakness for sci-fi books with a strong female lead. Also, Anne McCaffrey has written some of my all-time favorite books. Woot! Here's the short and sweet plot rundown - Girl, ship, wormhole, crash, survivors, aliens, babies, rescue. Awesome!

As a reminder to myself ... the next book will be #51. I'm so weird.

I have to wooooorrrrrrrk tomorrow. Blah. Blah. Blah.

Randomly, I was looking at a Buffy season 7 pic spam earlier today and it kinda, sorta made me want to marathon it. Not just season 7. All the seasons. That's crazy talk! Because I completely plan on marathoning Farscape first. Whether or not I have the time. The good news with Farscape is that I left off my last marathon at the end of season 1, so I just need to start with season 2 and go from there. Season 2 is where the good stuff starts.

Awe.Some.

I think I had a lot of important and exciting things to post about today. Alas, I'm now tired and don't remember much of the exciting stuff. Sorry.

Anyway. Here's the unexciting stuff ...
-Cole sat bolt upright in bed at about 11 last night and proceeded to throw up all over himself. Gross-a-roo! I made him take a bath and I was doing laundry at 11:30. I feel as if I do that far too often. Basically, I'm now trying (even harder than before) to monitor what he eats to see if all this throwing up is caused by a food allergy. Milk, maybe? Fun stuff. Fortunately, he felt fine for the bulk of today although he didn't eat much and he's been complaining of a stomach ache off and on. My stomach has also been hurting off and on which is annoying.

-Cole and I went out to the party store and bought all the things we'll need for his birthday party. The original theme he picked was Bionicle but I would have had to order that and I didn't feel like doing any online ordering when we had a perfectly good party store right down the street. That said, Cole chose to go with an Army theme. There's lots of green and black. Cool. I need to order his cake next weekend and figure out what we're going to eat at this thing. Oh, and come up with things for the kids to do for the three hours they're here. Good times, folks. Good times.

-My family has thinned out considerably since yesterday's post. Amber and Phil left this morning on a six week RV tour of the country's National Parks. Tracy (the sister that was visiting from back east) and her two boys left early this afternoon for the rest of their vacation (which loops her through a couple of states before sending her home). Seriously, we went from scads of family to just just the ones living in the house overnight.

-I have new books to read! Yay!

-One of the Star Trek movies was on Sci Fi last night (First Contact, I think) and it made me want to introduce Cole to that series. Or, at least the good ones. You know what they say ... Even numbered Trek films don't suck. Also, Farscape is on some random channel and now I want to marathon THAT again. I need more time to do all the things I want to do.

-I am done.

I'm very excited about tonight's Heroes. Speaking of TV, I'm nearly completely caught up on all my shows. I haven't watched the finale of Jericho yet, but everything else is in the bag. That isn't to say that I won't fall behind on this week's episodes, but as of this moment I'm sitting pretty.

I'm still very tempted by the thought of both a Heroes and a Farscape marathon. The more I think about it the better it sounds.

Yuck. I need to dust. It's becoming gross.

I have nothing else to say.

I am completely in a place to have a Heroes marathon and a Farscape marathon. Simultaneously. I'd start Farscape at season 2, I think. Obviously, Heroes would start with the first episode. Anyway. I was hit by the marathon bug earlier this week and it's been gnawing at me. I just might have to give in.

Did I mention that I have to work tomorrow? Blech.

I think I'll watch some SGA before going to bed. Word.

I went shopping with Amb, Gram and my mom today. It was productive. 2 skirts, 2 sweaters and a pair of pants. Word! I think I've completely revamped my work wardrobe in the past 2 months. Now I just need to buy a new pair of boots and I'll be peachy keen.

I've been watching a couple of episodes of Space: Above and Beyond. I totally remember all the episodes from when I originally watched them on TV. Unlike some shows where I remember NOTHING. I feel like I'm at loose ends again with the TV on DVD watching. Not that I don't have anything to watch, I just don't have anything that's crying out to me. I've done The X-Files thing. I've done the Stargate thing. I do plan on watching the other 3 seasons of Farscape, but not yet.

*sigh*

Such things I have to deal with.

Hey! I finally saw the end of the Dragon Lord Sci Fi movie that I've watched bits and pieces of 4 different times. Rock on! Next up, some dragon themed movie with Patrick Swayze in it. Oh, Saturday night, how I love thee.

Cole's feeling much better today. Well enough to have the mother of all temper tantrums. I'm wiped out. Seriously.

In fandom land - I finished Farscape season 1 last night and watched Silent Hill which was incredibly creepy in the beginning and middle and suddenly wasn't at the end. Still, it's a very visually stunning movie with lots and lots of weirdly twitching bodies and a halfway decent storyline.

Btw, Cole's temper tantrum was bad enough that he lost all TV, X-Box and computer privleges until Sunday. Tomorrow's going to be a fun day.

Seeing as how I only had 6 episodes remaining to watch in season 8 of SG-1, I thought I'd kick all those out easily today. Alas, no. Damn me for taking that nap. At 11:30. AM. Dude, being on vacation is pretty darn cool.

However, I am down to the final 4 eps, so I will finish it tomorrow. What do I watch after that? Oh, the questions I must ask. The weighty issues I must ponder. For the record, I really don't know what I'm going to watch after I finish this. I'm still planning on finishing Farscape season 1, but I only have 3 episodes remaining in that so that's not going to take me long.

Cole's kinda driving me bonkers right now. I think it's time for him to go to bed.

As well as immersing myself in season 1 of Farscape again, I've also picked up where I left off on Stargate SG-1 season 8. I'm up the ep that has the first glimpse of the lovely and talented Claudia Black. Awesome!

Other than that, I took my car in to have the oil changed and the tires rotated. And then I did nothing. NOTHING. Vacation rocks!

Tomorrow, I'm going to try to take my car back in to have the brakes replaced. If I don't get to that tomorrow, then Thursday. I'd also like to have my car washed. Really washed. Not by me or by the cheap car wash. I'm not making any promises on that, though.

Back to Vala and Daniel.

Just for the record, I picked up Farscape season 1 again. I finally broke through the wall and watched some more. Woot! I also finished off Brisco amd Family Guy seasons 1 & 2. I'm all caught up on my Friday night shows. Prison Break is going to be recorded so I can watch it tomorrow. What? I have a problem watching TV at 8.

Life is good.

I have a feeling this is going to be a "nothing" post but I've been doing so well posting every day this month that I couldn't skip a day. Right? Anyone? Okay.

I had a rather eventful day. After getting my hair done this morning (short and red!), Cole and I went to [livejournal.com profile] jenahville's where we proceeded to watch Lake Placid (STILL a classic!), Grosse Point Blank (STILL good!), a Farscape episode (The Flax), and last night's SG1 and SGA.

All in all, it was a very nice day.

I'm in the mood to make some SGA icons. I haven't made any of those in a while. Plus, I was nibbled on by a plot bunny while watching SGA and now I want to do a little writing.

Hee! I said "nibbled". That's funny!
