I just made a ridiculous amount of laundry detergent. Like, six bags plus a double batch for home use. I would have made more but I ran out of one of my ingredients. I guess I'm going on an ingredients run tomorrow.

I totally forgot to mention yesterday (in my second journal!) that I saw Zombieland and it cracked me up HARD! Like, whoa. That movie was just flat out funny. I'm almost tempted to watch it again right now. It was just that good.

The thought hit me earlier that the kids go back to school in 2 days. It will be really nice to have a solid block of time during the day without them around. I'm going to get back on my writing schedule. Even if it kills me.

Cole wants me to do this science experiment kit with him that he got for Christmas. I guess that's what we're going to do.

Holy smokes! I was sitting here at the computer being all intent and focused and stuff when all of a sudden I realized that my focus had completely failed me and I was floating in la-la land. When I stopped and thought about it, it hit me that I hadn't eaten yet today. Two cups of coffee aren't quite the same as really eating. Seriously, I was out of it. It came on in the blink of an eye. I was with it and doing my thing and then I totally wasn't. Crazy.

So, now I've eaten. I feel much more human and not at all like I'm about to fall over. Yay! Food!

So, the thing that totally captured my attention (until it didn't) was the monumental task of keeping my Squidoo pages up to date. No, it's not monumental, it's just something I really have to sit down and focus on. However, I've now updated nearly all of them. Super! I hope I'm not going to be annoying when I ask (very nicely) that any feedback on these would be much appreciated. Any. Whether it's telling me that the categories I chose for the movies are completely whack or to give me ideas on new things I can add. You can even tell em that I suck. I would prefer that you didn't, honestly, but I'll go with it if that's what you have to say.

Anyway. Anybody who cares to can either leave a comment here or on the page in particular. There's a comment option hidden away at the bottom of each page. I'm just kidding. It's not actually hidden. :)

Don't worry, I won't be offended if you have no desire to even look at the pages. I'm just looking for ways to beef them up a bit and want a different set of eyes with a different perspective.

Okay. I finished yesterday's book.
Book #93 - The Clue of the Dancing Puppet by Carolyn Keene - I was kind of stuck on how they were going to explain away the dancing puppet in this one. It worked out well, don't get me wrong, I just wasn't expecting it. So, Nancy helps an amateur acting group with the pesky problem of a puppet that dances without strings. She also steals the show as the lead in their play and makes an enemy of the girl who was previously the lead. Overall, an interesting book.

I'm exhausted right now. I feel like I've crammed a day's worth of stuff into a few hours. *sigh* I haven't watched Supernatural yet, but I hope to get to that today. Or at least before the weekend's over. That reminds me! I recorded a bunch of Warehouse 13 episodes a while back and just finished them off. I like that show. It started off so-so, but it's really picked up lately. It's just fun. I wasn't sure about it when I watched the pilot, but I like the bantering between Pete and Myka. They're just fun to watch. And the plot lines have really picked up, I think. They're fun and engaging.

Okay. I know it's early, but I might have to take a nap. Heck, my dog's already napping. Why can't I?

Okay. I have several things to talk about today. First, Cole won both of his flag football games today! Yay! This is the second week of games (last week SUCKED because it was over 100F) and he did a great job. He intercepted a pass and ran the ball twice for touchdowns. Awesome!

Second, I've changed shampoos. Well, it's not exactly shampoo. It's castile soap. One of the things that I kept reading before I switched to it was that it takes about a week for your hair to adjust to the fact that all the natural oils aren't be stripped out. Holy smokes! My hair is so weirdly greasy that it's freaking me out. Here's the thing, it doesn't look dirty or anything, but when I touch it I can feel the oils on it. Which means that the weirdness makes me keep touching it and then I get all freaked out again. And again. And again.

Third. I'm watching Beyond Loch Ness, or whatever it's called, for the second time. This is a Sci-Fi channel movie. Strangely enough, it's not too bad. It kinda makes me want to become a Loch Ness monster hunter. Because hunting dinosaurs is cool when you have a long coat and a lot of weapons.

Fourth, which ties in with three ... The two movies I've watched a couple of times recently.

-and-

I'll be working on web pages tomorrow. Simply because admitting that I keep watching all these movies makes me realize that I really need to get back to the web page making. Hee! I also need to sit down and figure out how many recipes I have for my cookbook. I'm making that fucker! One way or another.

Okay. I'm off to be totally unproductive and watch movies while trying to fathom why my hair feels like a duck's feathers. Yeah. That was weird.

I have several things to talk about today. First off, in honor of Earth Day I didn't do any laundry. This would probably be more impressive if I did laundry every day, but I don't. It also might be more impressive if I had been planning on doing laundry today, but I wasn't.

Anyway.

I totally gave myself a career-ending injury yesterday while washing my car. This is a prime example of why I don't wash my car very often. I was going to take a picture of it so you all could see how completely vile it looks, but I couldn't get a good one. So, you'll just have to live with a description. Actually, I'm just going to nutshell it and move along. Since I'm short, I can never reach the middle of the hood while washing the car and I usually use the step stool we have in the kitchen. However, I didn't bother to get it out and instead decided to JUMP up to get that pesky center spot. I kinda slid down the license plate with my leg and let's just say that I knew it was going to be a nasty bruise as soon as I did it. It had welts. And it hurt to walk up the stairs. Gross.

So, back to Earth Day. Feel free to visit all my random reusable pages that I've been tinkering with. :)

People are Googling the Reusable snack and sandwich bag one like MAD. Seriously, it's insane.

Oh, I also made dinner, which we haven't eaten yet. Black bean and corn with chicken burritos. Or, if we don't want to go the burrito route, black bean and corn with chicken salad. It's a very versatile dinner. The chicken's actually separate right now so it could even be vegetarian. I'm so proud of myself. I'm pretty sure that this recipe will be going in the cookbook. The one I'm writing. The one I need to take beautiful pictures for. The one that very few people know about. :)

I'm done.
Have a nice Earth Day and remember to turn it off when you're not using it. It doesn't matter what it is, just turn it off.

Umm, wow. I totally meant to come back yesterday and spam the hell out of everyone. Alas, I did not. I blame BSG. I actually watched the finale yesterday more or less as it was airing which is an INCREDIBLE feat for me. Seriously, my rule of thumb is that I can't have two eps on my DVR. I always have to watch last week's before this week's airs. So, for me to watch it as it (more or less) happens is nearly catastrophic.

For the record (and I'm not going to go into details here), I really, really liked it. No, not everything was answered but it gave us a concrete ending. And I enjoyed it. I'm almost tempted to go back and do a marathon rewatch.

The weather's teasing me with rain right now. It's been splattering off and on this afternoon and now it's kinda hot. Like, that hot before a storm when everything's still and heavy. I have the window open because the air's feeling close.

Day 21 celebrating the 30 in 30 is up at [livejournal.com profile] blabapalooza. So it day 20. But there was that whole thing where I didn't come back to journal after my early morning babble fest and didn't mention it.

Here's good news on the logo front. [livejournal.com profile] jenahville and her son came over for a visit and Jenn and I brainstormed on Photoshop and I think I have my logo. It's not exactly what I had in me head, but I really like it and it does get the point across that I was trying to get at.

There you have it. I did a lot today.

Murky and overcast this morning. Rumor has it that it might rain soon. I love the rain. Especially when I'm home, hunkered down with a hot cup of something and hours to wile away.

Did I mention that my Twilight DVD shipped yesterday. I might (might) get it today. It's okay, you don't have to be jealous that Amazon loves me. If you love it, it turns out that it'll love you back.

I've been updating some of my Squidoo pages.

I've also bought the bags I'm going to use for my detergent. I did decide to go with Three Sisters. It makes more sense if I'm going to use it for things that aren't all "green". For example, I'm thinking of offering spell-casting kits. Three Sisters works slightly better with that. The only downside is that I actually have four sisters. As in, there are five of us all together. That just didn't have the same ring to it. Five Sisters. No. Three is a much more magical number.

Three Sisters it is.

Thank you to everyone who voted. My next request is going to be for someone with graphics abilities to help me translate the logo design in my head into something that doesn't look like a 3 year old drew it. I could even pay a small fee. Or I could pay in homemade detergent. Because I'm going to use the barter system for everything from now on. Do you think Target will take chickens in lieu of money? I don't have any chickens, but if I did I would totally barter them. Or maybe just their eggs.

Oh! I think that this is one of the coolest eco-friendly things I've seen lately. I want it because it's pretty and neat to look at and good for the environment, but what the hell would I actually do with it?

Wow. I wrote a lot. And it's still early. That leaves a very wide door for me to return.
