I had the weirdest dream last night. I don't even think I can properly detail it out. The short version is that I bought a house in the LA area that used to belong to a family of drug runners. There was a covered bridge going over a little creek and weird hidey-holes all over the house where the drug runners would hide themselves and their stuff. Also, my dad was there giving me advice. It was ... odd.

And in news that might be cool to me and me alone, I've watched all my shows that were hanging around on my DVR. Lost was GREAT! I was all ... AHHHHHHHH! And ....OMG!!!! I had a good time watching it. SGA needs to have Ronon in civilian clothes more often. He's very pretty. Supernatural was FUN! Psych made me laugh! FNL was good! All in all, a very good TV watching evening.

The fam and I (minus Heather but plus Amb and Phil) went out to Japanese food for dinner tonight. I've been craving Japanese for weeks. WEEKS! It was so good. The kids always amaze me with how much they eat when we put rice and teriyaki chicken in front of them. Oh, and Cole is obsessed with pot stickers. He can tell a good pot sticker from a bad one. He cracks me up.

I'm going to go zone out for a bit. I have a slight case of the tireds.

I just watched Friday Night Lights and Tim Riggins just gets prettier and prettier every time I see him. I think I'm going to watch The Covenant once I'm done journaling just to get a little more Kitsch time. Word.

Some time before Christmas I told my mom that I really, really needed to buy a new bookcase. She asked me if I could wait until Heather moved out. At the time I could wait. Now? I can't. I told my mom that I had rearranged as much as humanly possible and I still didn't have enough room for all my books and movies. Woe! I must buy a new bookcase.

I also think I'm going to try to pop into Best Buy tomorrow and buy Lost season 3. If it's on sale. :)

And that it all.

ETA: Book #9 - Anita Blake Vampire Hunter: Guilty Pleasures, volume 1 by Laurell K. Hamilton - This is the comic adaptation of LKH's 1st Anita Blake book. Ye, gods! It's pretty. This takes issues 1-6 and puts them together in a gorgeous hardcover book with all the variant covers and other random pretties. It's kinda making me want to go back and re-read the original novel. Cool.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet ...
1. I watched The Office. I liked it. Nothing in particular stands out, but it was fun.

2. I watched Supernatural. I liked it. I really liked Dean's devil-may-care attitude toward everything. It totally fits with him. I also have this plot bunny gnawing away at the inside of my head on how the boys can beat the deal Dean made. I must write it.

3. I'm watching Moonlight. Jason Dohring is much better in this episode. And Alex O'Loughlin is very pretty. He and Sophia Myles have yummy chemistry. Also, is this entire show shot in soft focus?

4. I'm recording Friday Night Lights, but I don't think I'll be able to watch it until tomorrow.

5. Cole and the fam and I will be doing a mile and a half walk for Diabetes tomorrow. I'm not quite sure if I'm looking forward to it.

6. I worked today from 8:00 to 7:30. Do the math.

Okay. Now I'm done.

Book #76 - Grave Sight by Charlaine Harris - This book was fun. I'd have to say that her Sookie Stackhouse series is better but this one was engaging. I'm willing to read the next in the series.

I'm feeling very ... melancholy tonight. There's no reason in particular, I'm just zoning out on myself and I feel like I'm drifting. I'm also fairly surprised that I managed to read anything at all, much less start and finish a book. Blah.

I think I'm ready to head off to bed. I just want to cap off this fun and scintillating post by saying that I've officially hooked [livejournal.com profile] kimbrchick on Friday Night Lights! My sister and her husband are also recent converts! Whoo-hoo! My work here is done.

Uggh! It's hot (not as hot as it has been recently, but still muggy and gross) and I feel like I ate WAY TOO MUCH! That said, this post is probably going to be all over the place. Because things like that happen.

I have dispersed all my extra copies of Friday Night Lights to the various people that I bought them for. That's nice because now I don't have a pile of DVDs sitting on my dresser.

I'm still fairly certain that I'll be making a trailer vid to Night Watch. I'm just working on picking the music.

I got a gift! In the mail! From [livejournal.com profile] neversince! Apparently, it got here on Saturday and nobody bothered to tell me that I had mail! Mean! I love it, Christie! Thank you!

[livejournal.com profile] jenahville, [livejournal.com profile] kimbrchick and I watched a lot of movies yesterday. Resident Evil, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Blades of Glory and half of Underworld. The REs were so we'd be ready when Resident Evil: Extinction comes out on the 21st. BoG was ... well, I bought it because Jenna Fischer's in it. And UW. I have nothing more to say about that.

Today? I've done nothing. Except eat too much. I tried to nap earlier but the kids were being far too loud. So, no nap.

This week and the next should be interesting as far as work goes. I have lots of weird things coming up. Not as weird as a couple of weeks ago with video shoots and awards ceremonies and STUFF, but still weird. I'm captaining a shift of volunteer work at a community center downtown for the bank on the 13th. I have dinner and bowling with all the managers in my district on the 6th. I have a meeting on the 12th. Nothing earth-shattering, but a lot of off-the-wall things.

I think I'm going to read. I haven't done much of that this weekend.

I have things to say. First off, my internet connection is still not working in my room. Blah! I'm so annoyed by this that I can't adequately express myself. I want my fully customized browser. I want my music playing as I journal. I want to be a little less whiny about this and I KNOW that's not going to happen.

Secondly, Book #68 - Forever Knight: A Stirring of Dust by Susan Sizemore - I actually really liked this book. Sometimes, novelizations of TV shows/movies/etc come across as extremely weak and not at all fleshed out. This one was captivating. And yes. It's based on the awesome vampire cop show from the late 80's(?), early 90's(?) of the same name. Forever Knight. Look it up!

Book #69 (heh!) - Angels Fall by Nora Roberts - I was quite pleased with this book. It has the requisite romance/mystery/deadly peril that all Nora Roberts book seem to have but I was sure I knew who the killer was about halfway through and I was totally WRONG! That is so cool. Also, at a hefty 444 pages it was a remarkably fast read. I started it about 6 last night and finished before midnight.

For the record, I didn't read at all today. I've run out of new books and have to decide what's worthy of a re-read. Also, I need to make sure I haven't read any of my re-reads already this year. Seriously? That sucked. I'm not ashamed to admit it. [livejournal.com profile] malkovich03 wonders how I can forget what I've already read. All I can do it shrug. Because I just don't know.

So, today I hauled Cole out to do some last minute clothes shopping so that he'd have some new pants for school. Umm, yeah. That didn't work out so well. I mean, I bought the pants, but my kid's grown so much lately that none of them fit. So, I'll take him to school tomorrow and head back out to Target to return those FOUR pairs for a larger size. *sniff* My baby's growing up. I'm not sure how I feel about this.

While we're on the topic of school, Cole has the same teacher in the same classroom that he had last year. It's a 2nd/3rd combo and his teacher handpicked him for the class. I've always wondered if having the same teacher is a good thing or a bad thing. On one hand, he was handpicked for the class and the teacher knows how he works and how to handle him. On the other hand, if for some reason ... yeah, I don't know what I'm saying. I've just always been curious is the same teacher is good or bad. I guess I'll find out.

And finally, my award thing in Half Moon Bay was exactly like this...
EXACTLY like this )

Until it was like this...
Yep, it was also like this )

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] iron_knife for bringing those to light.

Now I'm done. Remember, Friday Night Lights season 1 comes out tomorrow. I've bought my 5 copies. Have you? And, yes. I really did buy 5 copies. I'm committed to converting the unbelievers. Mwahahahahahaha! And then I will take over the world! Again. Hee!

'Night!

Book #60 - Threshold by Caitlin R. Kiernan - I really wanted to like this book. REALLY.wanted to. Unfortunately, the narrative jumps around so much between real life and dreams that I had trouble following it. I'm not saying that I'm a super-genius or anything but I do read A LOT and the fact that I kept having to go back and attempt to figure out what was happening now and what happened three pages ago became a bit tiresome. Like I said, I wanted to like it, right now I feel ambivalent. Give me a couple of months, things might change.

I didn't go to work today. I couldn't/didn't want to wake up this morning and when I finally did my back was hurting enough for me to make a command decision to stay home. Could I have made it at work? Probably. I just didn't have the will.

I spent part of the day playing with my GoodReads profile. I added a some of my upcoming books. I found this site courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] neversince and think it's pretty cool. All my book chicas out there, check it out. That means you, [livejournal.com profile] oddmonster. I know you read. A lot.

I spent an even larger portion of my day watching The Covenant. Again. And again. And again. I seriously don't know why I'm obsessed with that movie all over again. I'm completely happy having it on an endless loop while I do things. Sometimes I watch, sometimes I read, sometimes I sleep. But the movie's always on. This is interspersed with random re-watchings of FNL. Oh, Tim Riggins, how I love to look at you.

Also, I have a pretty cool dress for my pretty cool function for work in a couple of weeks. I bought these shoes to go along with the dress, so I'm feeling pretty good about life and this upcoming event.

That is all.

Uggh! Sunday. Working on Saturday drives the fun out of the weekend. Come to think of it, other than grocery shopping and watching The Covenant twice I didn't do ANYTHING today. Yes, feel free to ask my why I've watched The Covenant about 10 times this past week. I don't know. I just know that it's exactly what I'm in the mood for. All 10 times.

Also, Taylor Kitsch is in it. Yum.

Cole's having a rough-ish time with his dad getting married. He was in tears last night for no reason at all. I told him that I'd always be his mom and his dad would always be his dad, but it's tough to wrap your head around that when you're eight. So, we sat around today and watched movies and played his new Nintendo DS Lite.

Hmm. I think I need to plan a weekend with [livejournal.com profile] jenahville and [livejournal.com profile] kimbrchick. Hopefully the two of you are free next weekend because it's the only one I have free in the next few weeks. Plus, Miss Kim's birthday is coming up! Hee! Birthdays are fun!

I've re-watched a few episodes of FNL. LOVE!

Cole wanted me to stay up all night to "watch over him". I'm not quite sure why. So, I've watched The Covenant 3 times today (I slept through most of one time during my afternoon nap) and made wallpapers. I also had that doozy of a journal earlier. I think my fingers went partially numb from all that typing. I know this is terribly exciting. Just go with it.

Warning: I feel like this is going to be a long-ass, rambling post. I have a lot to say. Some of it is fandom related (FNL!YAY!) and some is about the DRAMA that's been going on at my house. Also, I got an awesome email from a friend I haven't heard from practically since we got out of high school. I just might talk about that also.

FANDOM!
I finished watching Friday Night Lights last night. Good Golly! That show is gorgeous and well written. I completely see what all the love is about. I want to write about some of my reactions, but first I decided that I needed a FNL wallpaper for my desktop. So, I made one. It's not great, but it puts those pretty, pretty people on my computer. And that's exactly what I wanted.

>>Clear eyes. Full hearts. Can't lose.

I've been trying to get Hailey to say "Can't lose." after I say "Clear Eyes. Full Hearts." Sometimes she forgets what to say. It's so damn funny.

Now, reactions. Which I will cut because otherwise this post will be mondo-huge.
Can't lose )

Real life
And now for the drama. Which I will also cut because it's long. And angsty. And I'm pretty sure that I might use harsh language.
There might even be adult content )

And in other real-life news, getting an email from a high school friend that you haven't spoken to in years is all sorts of awesome. Sometimes I forget that there's life outside of my little bubble. People grow up and move on and put families together.

It's like there's a whole world out there that's just beyond my fingertips.

I might have more to say, but I'm feeling a little drained. Feel free to comment about the wonderful-ness of Friday Night Lights. I need to roll around in all the FNL love.

Also? Have an awesome day tomorrow.

Can't stop. Must watch. Ep 21. Holy Moly! Sooooooo good!
Tim Riggins is still my super hot TV boyfriend.
I have tomorrow off. I will be able to re-watch a whole bunch of eps. AWESOME!
I think it's time to add the FNL moodtheme to the old LJ so I can show my complete obsession.

Oh, dear GOD! Work today was TORTURE because I wanted to be home watching FNL. I seriously need to watch the rest of the season so that this madness can go away. Not that I'm expecting it to go away, but at least I'll be able to talk intelligently about things that don't involve the Dillon Panthers. Oh, who am I kidding? This obsession has burst full-grown from within and it's taking over EVERYTHING inside me. Which is all sorts of awesome.

Joining two new fandoms wholeheartedly (The Office and Friday Night Lights for those not keeping track) has made me very, very pleased that I have 138 userpics to play with. For the record, I've uploaded 125. That's the closest I've ever been to maxing out on pics. AND I KEEP FINDING MORE THAT I LIKE! I'm going to have to *gasp* delete some if I keep going at this rate.

I'm planning on starting episode 16 as soon as I finish typing. Which is now. Later, babies!

[I've watched through episode 11]
Completely obsessed. Good thing Cole was at his dad's today helping to make cookies because I was completely entranced by FNL. It made me [nearly] neglect my duties as a mom. You know, if Cole had been home.

Anyway. Lovely, lovely show. I've been looking for FNL icons to add to my userpics. I found quite a few I like. Yay!

On a completely frivolous note ... Tim Riggins is going to be my next boyfriend. Yes, he has replaced Jim Halpert in my heart. I think it's the brooding hotness. It's just so ... HOT. Yes, I am aware that I have a thing for brooding bad-boys. Trust me, I KNOW this. He's just so ... HOT. It makes me giddy.

Tim/Lyla? Totally my 'ship. It's so totally my 'ship it should be named after me. Kelly's 'Ship. Have they replaced Jim/Pam? you ask. No, simply because they are very different relationships. Jim and Pam are sweet and very real. Tim and Lyla are supreme amounts of hotness.

Also, I've started my FNL playlist on iTunes. That's always a good sign. It means that it's saturating my brain and making me think about nothing but Friday Night Lights. For the record, I got rid of some of my older playlists that I was neither listening to nor working on. That means that I have lots of time and energy to devote to new playlists. It's all about the music, you know.

Btw, Tim completely has his own song. Beautiful Disaster by Kelly Clarkson. It's so him, it hurts.

I think I've gone on long enough.

Or not. Because I forgot to mention that I bought more new shoes today. TWO pairs. TWO! And, once again they were on clearance. $6 each. No, not each shoe. Each pair. SIX! And I completely love them.

Also, I need to stop saying "completely" all the time. In my defense, it's usually the absolutely perfect word for whatever I'm talking about. Completely.

Oh, and I'm on the lookout for FNL moodthemes. If you see any, shout it out.

Now I'm done.

I vaguely remember saying (just yesterday, in fact) that I need to get back on that reading wagon and add some more books to my ever expanding list. Yeah. That's not going to happen until I finish Friday Night Lights. I have watched three [THREE!] episodes and I've almost cried twice. At the rate I've been going lately I'm going to have to reconsider my "I don't cry at anything" statement. Geez. Every thing's been setting me off all of a sudden. I'd like to go back to being a stone-cold bitch again. Thank you.

Friday Night Lights! It is completely awesome. I adore Lyla. I adore Jason. I think Tim Riggins is hotter than hot. Coach! Oh, so much love. Cole's having a sleep-over with the boy next door in the other room which means that I'll be able to watch eps until the wee hours of the morning. Happy day!

You know, I knew that as soon as I started watching this show I'd be hooked. It's why I kept putting it off. I just knew.

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] tlace and [livejournal.com profile] heather13! You bring the love in. *kiss, kiss*

I'm going to get back to FNL. Later.
