Oh, journal! What a long, strange couple of months it's been. I almost don't even know where to start.

Since it's November, I'm participating in NaNoWriMo as I do every year. I've written close to 60K words on an Epic Zombie Masterpiece that is currently lacking zombies. I nearly gave myself a week long heart attack when my computer caught a nasty virus about a week and a half ago and I had to reformat the hard drive. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue since I keep all the important stuff on my external hard drive. However, this virus snuck in and hid all my external hard drive files.

I went from being at 32K words on my NaNo story to...OMG!WHERE'D IT GO? over the course of one agonizing night. I persevered and kept writing, despite not knowing what was going to happen with the first half of my novel or even if I'd be able to retrieve it. Fortunately, I have an awesome cousin who popped over one night and found all the files and fixed them up for me right good.

This was just about the most fantastic thing ever and I'm so thrilled to say that everything has now been recovered and backed up in triplicate. Also, I have so kicked NaNo's ass this year.

I've been very neglectful of all my online sites lately as I attempted to get things up and running, blah, blah, blah. However, Twitter and I have become extremely close and I'm turning into an insane tweeter. INSANE.

I won't be such a stranger in the future. I promise. I think.

The day of fun, food and Zombies has come to an end. [livejournal.com profile] malkovich03, [livejournal.com profile] jenah, & [livejournal.com profile] kimbrchick came over and we ate a delicious meal followed by season 1 of The Walking Dead.

It was awesome to see all of them, especially since we haven't managed a get together since around Christmas. It's all my fault, too. You know, since I work on Saturdays and all. Anyway. It was totally great to catch up and do the TV thing. Yay, for friends!

All I can say is... it was a good day.

Hailey, Cole and I are watching The Walking Dead again. Or at least the first episode. I freely admit that this series is well worth watching more than once. The fact that there are only six episodes total means that you can zip through the entire season very quickly.

So. Today at Cole's football game it started raining on us. I was like, "I can't have my Kindle out in the rain!" Which goes to show you what I do at my son's football games. So I sat in my car and watched the game from the parking lot.

I'm kinda the worse mom ever, aren't I?

Anyway. Books.
Book #195 - Hell by Randy Noble - And reason #1,263 why you shouldn't hitchhike and/or take rides from strangers.
Book #196 - Ecstasy by Bella Andre - Where I get to mention that the word "vagina" is not my favorite word for girl parts in erotica.
In My Mailbox - 19 books for six cents. I think I did pretty good this week.

Okay. We've switched over to season 4 of Stargate Atlantis. Have I ever mentioned that I'm kinda in love with Ronon? Jason Momoa is so damn big. And pretty. And his smile is just disarmingly melting. I think this means I'm going to be seeing Conan when it hits the theaters. Hello, sexy muscles!

On that note...
Later.

I mentioned yesterday that Blogger was down for most of the afternoon. Well, it ate 2 of the 3 posts I put up yesterday and 1 I posted the night before so I spent some time today getting all that back up. Fortunately, I post my reviews over at Goodreads as soon as I post them on my blog so I didn't lose anything. I just had to do some cutting and pasting to get things back the way they should be.

I know everyone was worried, but you totally don't have to be. It all worked out!

Cole has some friends over tonight. I've barricaded myself in my room and I'm considering gorging myself on mindless Zombie movies. Or possibly something of another mindless variety. I'm not difficult. I just want to zone out.

So. Yeah. That's all I have tonight. I'm off to be mindless and think up terrible things for the Zombies to do in my story.
Later.

Seriously, I have a bunch of random stuff...

Random #1: One of our neighbors is incredibly anti-social and we rarely see her around the neighborhood. I mean, maybe once a week. Maybe. The other day my mom's looking out the window and she's like, "That package has been sitting in front of B's house for 2 days. If we start to smell something weird soon I'm calling the police." I was like, "What? You think she's mouldering away in the bathroom or something?" My mom was like, "I do." I wandered off with visions of Zombies and decaying corpses dancing through my head.

For the record, we still haven't seen B but the package has been mysteriously picked up.

Random #2: I myself got a package in the mail today. It was a book I ordered for a co-worker who didn't have an Amazon account. I kid you not, it took me more than 10 minutes to open the fucking thing. The vendor had wrapped it in packing tape - not the shiny, easily sliced packing tape either. Oh, no. It was the packing tape with threads in it. The ones you can't tear apart with your bare hands in a show of Hulk-like strength. Dear GAWD! I thought I was going to be found in a 100 years with that damn package clutched in my mummified hands and tear tracks carving salty trails down my withered cheeks.

Eventually I conquered the tape and managed to get the book out of the packaging. It was really touch and go for a while, though.

Random #3: I've worked out some of the backstory on how the Zombie Apocalypse started in my Zompocalypse story. I have three words for you: Cursed Glass Eye. I threatened Cole and his friend yesterday that if they didn't shape up I was going to write them into the story and they wouldn't be cool at all. Nope, not at all. They were actually excited about it so it didn't seem to be all that much of a threat.

Random #4: Blogger has been down for most of the afternoon. I'm just pleased that I wrote up those three reviews at work this morning. *fist pump*

And since I'm already talking about books...
Book #187 - Scary Mary by SA Hunter - Fun and fast, this is one of the freebies I picked up yesterday.
Book #188 - Random Acts of Senseless Kindness by Graham Parke - This short story was AWESOME! It was so out there and quirky that I laughed out loud AT WORK!
Book #189 - Dead Drop: A Lawson Vampire Bonus Story by Jon F. Merz - Okay, so this was a really short review but I really liked the writing style and thought it was a good introduction to the series.

Maybe I'll have more random fun tomorrow.
Who knows?
Later.

I don't even want to talk about how many free Kindle books I downloaded today. Of course Amazon is glutting the free Kindle book market the month I'm trying to tame that TBR pile. And of course I can't pass up some of them. On the plus side, I only picked up 11 books out of 200 or so.

For those that are interested:
Books 1-50
Books 51-100
Books 101-150
Books 151-200

That's a crazy lot of books. Good thing not all of them appealed to me.

Anyway onto the books that I've actually read.
Book #185 - Angel Burn (Angel Trilogy #1) by LA Weatherly - An interesting take on angels. They're not all fluffy and sweet but rather predatory and wicked. I liked it.
Book #186 - Magyk (Septimus Heap #1) by Angie Sage - Once I got past the first quarter of the book I really liked it.

Okay. I have a Zombie Apocalypse to start. Later.

Hailey got it in her head the other day that she wanted to watch The Walking Dead. We only have the last episode left and she's all into it. I have great hopes that she'll survive whatever the forthcoming Zombie Apocalypse throws at us. Yeah, the Zombie Apocalypse. She's going to have some mad survival skills. She'll be bashing those Zombies in the head and destroying their brains before anyone else realizes that the walking dead have risen.

I am so proud to be able to write that.

In slightly less apocalyptic news, I worked hard today. I think this is the first day I've done this since I started. It was interesting. Especially when you factor in that I still managed to get half a book read at work. I kinda rock, guys. It's true.

And since I'm already talking about books, here's my itty bitty recap for today:
Teaser Tuesday - Angel Assassins, Weather Wardens and Ordinary Wizards!

And that pretty much sums up the day.
Later.

I'm attempting to condense down some of the random sites I have here and there around the web. I deleted my fanfic journal this morning. Mostly because I haven't updated it in over a year and I have big plans for being published in the future. That might not make sense but if I ever decide to share all my random writings with the internet again I'll probably go all out and do it on my own domain. I also have plans to delete my graphics journal, mostly because I really don't see myself making icons or wallpapers or anything like that in the near future. So, yeah. That'll go away soon. I think [livejournal.com profile] jenah and I need to decide if we're going to do anything with [livejournal.com profile] blabapalooza or just let it fade away. I don't really care one way or another, I just know that I haven't been watching many movies lately and thus have nothing to review.

Oh, and yesterday I mentioned that I'd written about 450 words on my Zompocalypse story. I cranked out another 150 words last night after I wrote up that post, so I ended up at 600+ words. Nice. Not fantastic, but definitely nice.

And for books...
Book #181 - Turned at Dark (Shadow Falls #0.5) by CC Hunter - An interesting introduction to a new series. I liked it.
Book #182 - Fallen from Grace (Dark Passages Prequel) by MJ Putney - Not quite as tight as I would have hoped for a new-to-me series but it tickled my fancy and left me with a lot of questions.
Book #183 - Voice of the Blood (Voice of the Blood #1) by Jemiah Jefferson - I liked some things about this book and then there were other things that I wasn't as in love with.
Book #184 - The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton - Oh wow. I loved how we were given three different storylines from three different times and we slowly begin to unravel the mystery of what happened so many years before and how it ties in with the present.

My wee beastly boy (who really isn't all that wee anymore seeing as how he's nearly as tall as I am. I can hear all of you that know how tall I am laughing hysterically at this point and saying that the fact that he's nearly as tall as me is nothing to write home about) slept from 6:30 last night until 6:30 this morning. The little brat was tired, I guess.

Anyway. For Mother's Day he gave me a Karma necklace shaped in a spiral that says "What goes around comes around". Lol! My kid knows me so well.

Hailey asked me if we could watch The Walking Dead earlier and naturally I agreed. Somewhere along the way I started chatting with [livejournal.com profile] oddmonster on Twitter about Zombies. I'm proud to announce that Odd shamed me into cracking open my Zompocalypse short and cranked out 450 or so words. Not great, I know, but I still have time tonight to get some more done on that. Hopefully I can finish it up in a few thousand more words and get back to writing the epic Zompocalypse Morgan Hill story. I'm not promising anything but there might possibly be a cursed glass eye that makes an appearance.

In totally random news, I started watching Game of Thrones and really wasn't all that impressed by it. Now, I wasn't fully focused on it so that might have been part of the problem but the first episode seemed incredibly slow. Incredibly. Like, I kept waiting for something to happen and finally I just turned it off. I'll try again at some later date but I'm not really feeling the love at this point.

So. Book stuff. Of which I don't have a ton.
In My Mailbox - A couple of fun ones. Yay!
As an aside, I'm going to attempt to get my TBR pile down by tracking it weekly on my IMM posts. My starting point? 224 books. Let's see how I do on taming that beast!

Okay. I have a sweeping story about Zombies and blood to write.

Oh, yay. Spring Break is almost over. Not that I don't like having the kids around. I do. Most of the time. And then they start fighting and all my good will goes right out the window. Bloosh. Splat. STOP FIGHTING NOW!

Yeah. It's been a weirdly long week. We haven't done anything, either. Did I mention that two of Cole's friends spent the night the other night and I was ready to bodily throw the entire group of them to a passel of hungry crocs? True story. They weren't doing anything, exactly. They were just being boys. Clomping up the stairs, talking, being stinky. Normal boy stuff. I just reached burn out mode and needed to have some very quiet time in my own house. How sad is that?

I ended up locking myself in my room and staring in pained horror every time I heard someone coming up the stair. True story.

Anyway. Book stuff. And I have a lot of it today. Well, not a lot a lot. But more than one. You'll see.
Book #167 - Undead Much? (Megan Berry 32) by Stacey Jay - I adore Stacey Jay's take on zombies and the people who send them back to their eternal rest. It's breezy, light and fun. Not at all what you'd expect from a book about zombies.
Book #168 - Behemoth (Leviathan #2) by Scott Westerfeld - I LOVE the worldbuilding in this series. It's a steampunk alternative history set during the outset of World War I and it's so fantastically detailed and gorgeous. I'm seriously swooning over it.
Book #169 - Night and Chaos (The Deva Chronicles #1) by Naomi Clark - I loved the mythology behind this but I'm bummed that the author is still writing book #2. I want to know what happens!
Book Blogger Hop, Follow Friday and Tagalong Friday - With only one half-naked man picture this week. I'm sorry. I should have added more.

I'm sure I have things to do. Very important things. Like watch The Vampire Diaries. Seriously.

For not eating all that much why do I feel like I'm going to explode? Blech. To combat this I'm going to watch a few episodes of The Walking Dead. Because dead-ish things are always enjoyable on a full stomach.

But first...

I had a phenomenal sleeping day today. Seriously, I think I've slept more in the past few days than normal people sleep all week. I have some mad sleeping skillz, yo! Olympic quality, even. It would be as boring as hell to watch but I'd take the gold without a doubt.

Cole has this nasty mucous-y cold but their doing state testing for the next few weeks so I'm forcing him to go to school. You might be thinking that I'm a mean mom but allow me to point out that he missed an entire week of school a few weeks ago with the stomach flu. So, yeah. He can deal with the snot.

Okay. Now that I've used the word "mucous" I can get onto the book portion of the evening.
Book #148 - Phoenix Rising (Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences #1) by Pip Ballantine & Tee Morris - A bullet proof corset. I think that says it all. Also, the characters were fabulous and snarky. Loved them.
Book #149 - Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander #1) by Karen Marie Moning - So incredibly different from her Fever series but still an enormous amount of fun. With time travel! To the Highlands!
Book Blogger Hop, Follow Friday & Tagalong Friday - If you've ever been curious about what I think of [livejournal.com profile] malkovich03, here's your chance to find out. As a bonus there might be a picture of a sexy tattooed man. Because I like sexy tattooed men.

I can safely say that I'm going to hit my book reading goal for the year seeing as how I've already finished book #150 (literally about 30 minutes ago, so it hasn't been reviewed yet). I think I'll increase the goal up to 450. That's a nice number, don't you think?

However, I'm going to wait until I get that 150th review up so I can look all accomplished and shit. Yay, books!

Okay. I'm done. For serious. I'm going to go veg out and watch something inane and brainless. Hopefully with Zombies. Of course, if I do go with Zombies they won't be brainless. I mean, they will be but they'll be eating them so... yeah. I've lost my train of thought with this one.

I'm forcing myself to journal today because I like seeing all the days on my little calendar lit up at the end of the month. So, even though I have very little to say (because OMG! work was slow today!), here I am. Yay!

I thought that today, being the first Saturday of the month, would be busy. Boy, was I wrong. Slow slow slow slow slow. I read. I organized. I ate. You know, that's pretty much my normal Saturday so I don't know why I'm surprised. Maybe because I expected people to be in and out all day paying rent and stuff. Alas, no.

Anyway. I might have read a book or two. Okay, fine. I only read one. And I haven't even written the review for that one yet. This is yesterday's book that I was a slacker on and didn't write up until the afternoon. You know, it's like I never get caught up.
Book #131 - Embrace the Night Eternal (Envy Chronicles #2) by Joss Ware - I think this book is my favorite in the series so far. That might be because I read them out of order, though.
On My Wishlist (week 27) - The Sexy Men of Sci-Fi Edition.
In My Mailbox (04/03/11) - This is my Sunday post which I always end up putting up on Saturday night. I could change it so that it becomes the Saturday post but where's the fun in that?

Not terribly exciting, but there you have it.

Oops. I missed another journal day. I'm going to have to put myself on some sort of schedule so I can get back in the swing of things.

Since I've been a total slacker in all things lately, I made a list of things I need to get done today. There are VERY exciting things on it.
For example:
  • fold yesterday's laundry
  • vacuum
  • clean the bathroom (didn't I do that LAST week?!?)
  • take the dogs on a walk
  • read a book

I know you're wondering how I can contain myself with that sort of exciting stuff happening. I also need to run up to Target to pic up dog food before it goes off sale. I really don't want to do that because I'll have to hunt down a pair of shoes. And a bra. Blah.

Since I'm making lists, here are some things that amuse me:
  • Cole had open house last night and his teacher told me that she was very impressed with his science project. *blink blink* Okay. I didn't mention that we cobbled that together over a two day period. Frankly, it was sub-par work, especially for him, but who am I to argue when the teacher says he did a good job.
  • I only read 1 Zombie book in March. I follow up that horrifying revelation with this: I only read 1 steampunk book in March also. In a strange twist, they were the same book. The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook. Honestly, the book was pretty light on Zombies but since they did play a part I slotted it into my Zombie reading challenge with a smile.

Speaking of which (and since I have this overwhelming urge to bullet point everything today), here's the breakdown of my 2011 Reading Challenges as of 03/31/11.
  • The Zombie Challenge: 4/10
  • The Steampunk Challenge: 2/10
  • The YA Reading Challenge: 27/40
  • The Shifter Challenge: 22/60
  • The Vampire Challenge: 30/60
  • The Show Me The Free Challenge: 29/30
  • The Paranormal Erotic Romance Challenge: 6/10
  • The Paranormal Romance Challenge: 44/60
  • The E-Book Challenge: 86/100
  • The Horror & Urban Fantasy Challenge: 36/60
  • The Morbid Romantica Challenge: 68/108 (main challenge), 17/45 (alternate challenge)
  • The TBR Challenge: 5/12

I had to upgrade the Shifter, Vampire, Paranormal Romance and Horror & Urban Fantasy Challenges because I'd already hit the set goal. I'm getting mighty close to completing a few other ones, too.

Speaking of books:
Book #129 - Sleeping Beauty: Vampire Slayer (Twisted Tales #2) by Maureen McGowan - Darker than book 1, I liked the twist on the classic tale.
Book #130 - Bone Crossed (Mercy Thompson #4) by Patricia Briggs - I kinda love this series. It's detailed without being heavy and overwhelming. Plus, I love those secondary characters.
Book Blogger Hop, Follow Friday, & Tagalong Friday (04/01/11) - I don't think I'll ever top last week's post with the hot picture of Jason Behr. Isn't that a sad thought? I did say that the way I read is reminiscent of urban sprawl, though. That's amusing. To me, at least.

Did you notice that I did hit my goal of 130 books by the end of March? I don't know whether I should be proud of myself or hide in shame because all I've been doing lately is read. :)

Well. I've gone on long enough here.

I am tired right now. This is what happens when I miss my nap. And, OMG!, it was so, so, so so so so slow at work today. I was there from 10 to 5 and I think I saw a grand total of 10 people. Maybe. I read 2 books from beginning to end, for Pete's sake. That's cool and everything but at the same time it makes for a long day when you're stuck inside and it's raining out. Plus, we have snow on the hills behind my house so it's cold out. Coooooollllllld. I'm totally unprepared for the cold. All my gloves are fingerless and most of my shoes are open-toed.

Which reminds me that I'm on the hunt for another pair of boots. Again. I'm perpetually looking for boots. At least that's how it seems. But I have my eye on a pair from Hot Topic that tickle my fancy.

Okay. Books.
Book #79 - Don't Die Dragonfly (The Seer #1) by Linda Joy Singleton - My biggest complaint is that I don't think the high school aged main character acted like a teenager. She was too composed, too poised. Plus, her boyfriend was so vanilla it hurt. I'm sure you'd find the guy's picture in the dictionary next to "perfect".
Book #80 - Zombie Cupcakes by Zilly Rosen - Yes, I really reviewed a book about cupcakes. ZOMBIE cupcakes! Because zombies are awesome and everyone should totally be down with the undead cupcake phenomenon.
Book #81 - Wicked Lovely (Wicked Lovely #1) by Melissa Marr - Holy Hannah! I loved this book. It was so dark and gloomy and cruel. All the things I expect when I rad about Fae.

For the record, the Zombie cupcake book wasn't one of the 2 I read at work. I read it a few days ago and just hadn't gotten around to writing up a review on it.

So, there.

Today I had my mostly all day day at the new job. It was easy. I got to read and listen to music and ... help people. Yeah. Easy.

I'm getting tired since I missed my nap today so I'll cut right to the books.
Book #59 - Strange Angels (Strange Angels #1) by Lilith Saintcrow - This is a book with zombies, vampires, werewolves and a girl who has a lot of untapped potential. I ended up liking it despite how long it took me to get into it.
On My Wishlist (week 20) - Some of the early release books I've reviewed recently and loved.

I'm sleepy. I have to kick the kiddo out to his own room so I can collapse.

I've been so freaking tired today. Like, ridiculously so. I think I took a 3 hour nap earlier. Whoa. 3 hours is just about the upper limit for my naps. Anything over that and I'm just flat out sleeping.

Tomorrow is day 2 of my job. Have I mentioned that answering phones is one of my least favorite things to do ever? True story. And yet somehow I decided to go with a job that involves answering calls all day. Boo.

In other news ... no, there is no other news. But I do have some books to talk about.
Book #53 - The Zero Dog War: Zero Dog Missions #1 by Keith Melton - OMG! This book fucking killed me. Dead. It killed me dead and rolled my corpse looking for smokes. Of which I didn't have any because I don't smoke. Dudes. This book was so fun. FUN! There were zombies and mercenaries and a few steamy kisses... LOVED IT!
I also signed up for two more challenges: The Zombie Challenge and The Steampunk Challenge. Considering how many books in each of these categories I read in the month of January alone, I don't think I'll have any problems with these two little lovelies.

Okay. I'm done.

I don't know where my brain is today but I almost forgot to journal. Not a huge deal, I know, but I might as well keep the streak alive until something comes up that I can't escape from.

Do you guys remember the project on Egypt that Cole had to do before Thanksgiving? Or maybe it was after Thanksgiving. I've started to block it from my memory, I guess. Anyway. He has another big group project due. This one's on China. Not all of China, mind you, just some teeny, tiny little city state that we could barely find any information on. In Egypt he was a pharaoh. This time he's a blacksmith. So how's he going to dress up for his presentation? I went out and bought him a black kitchen apron. One of the full length ones that goes over your head. It hangs down past his knees and looks like the leather aprons the blacksmiths used to wear. I'm kinda proud of thinking of it because it's perfect. There isn't all that much more to this story except that I didn't have to work my fingers to the bone on this project recreating the Giza plateau in modeling clay. Yay!

Okay. Books.
Book #31 - Shadowfever (Fever #5) by Karen Marie Moning - Fucking hell, this series was awesome and the final book was ... whoa. Fabulous and dark and heartbreaking. Everything I wanted from it and so much more.
Book #32 - Zombie Queen of Newbury High by Amanda Ashby - A fun, quick read about ZOMBIES!
Book #33 - Make Mine Midnight by Annmarie McKenna - I needed some light reading after the epicness of Shadowfever. This is what I ended up with: a hot threesome! Go figure.

Okay. I'm done.

More writing done today. I am giddy about this. I also opened up the story that was formerly known as the NaNo story that wouldn't die and got a few paragraphs down. I'm going to have to take the lesson I'm learning with that story to heart: If I decide to slack off and ignore a story, it's hard to find the rhythm again. I'm just sayin'.

Randomly, I read this incredibly inspiring blog post by Amanda Hocking about how she became a writer and everything she excelled at was exactly the opposite of what she was told to expect (How Everything Went the Opposite of What I'd Been Told). Okay, maybe only people who have a yen to write and get published will appreciate it, but I thought it was really cool that she became self-published and made it work despite being told that she'd never be able to. It's cool. And it reminds me that there are always going to be things that don't fit the mold so giving up is not an option.

But back to my writing about the Zombie Apocalypse traipsing through Morgan Hill:

Working title: Zompocalypse

Today's snippet:
“Whatever, princess. Keep your stupid feminine products off the counter and I’ll make sure the seat gets put down after I piss.”
I squeaked and hurried down the hall, mortified that he’d say something like that in front of his friends. Feminine products! Oh, gawd!

Haha! Feminine products. I think I've already made 30 references to tampons and/or that time of the month. This story is totally whacked, guys! Totally whacked!

Okay. Books.
Book #11 - Ironside (The Modern Faerie Tales #3) by Holly Black - I loved the overall arc progression and character growth. Love!
Book #12 - Hollowland by Amanda Hocking - Zombies! Zombies in a shattered future! I loved it!

ON a book related note, I was approved to review a ton of upcoming books the other day. Like, 7 of them. I had to make a list for myself according to which ones come out first so I can read them in a timely fashion. You wanna see what they are?
Stone Kissed by Keri Stevens (already released)
Eternal Prey (Gods of the Night #3) by Nina Bangs (already released)
47 Echo by Shawn Kupfer (1/17/11)
Night Betrayed (Envy Chronicles #4) by Joss Ware (1/25/11)

Awesome-sauce!
Okay. I'm done now. I have to make sure Cole really did his homework before he goes to bed.
Later.

Guys. I wrote today. WROTE. Of course, it wasn't any of the 2 partial stories nor the one I'm editing, but I WROTE!

Working title: Zompocalypse
Yes. It is about zombies. Thank you for asking.
I have no idea how long this is going to be, I just had this vague idea. And when I say "vague" I mean that I knew where I wanted it to start and end but I wasn't quite sure of the middle stuff. So I'm aiming for 10K words at this point and if that pans out and possibly looks like it's going to be a little more wordy... well, I'll just go with it.

Just for fun:
Back in my room, I pulled on an old faded t-shirt and climbed into bed. I tried to sleep but every time I closed my eyes I saw that empty leash and the blood and stuff that had been on the man’s jacket. My imagination was running away from me and it kept going through a horrid mental loop of the man dropping his briefcase so he could claw at Devon as he went out on his run. I should have said something. Anything. Given him a verbal jab to make him more observant. Told him that I thought a guy was following me home.

I do like those zombies. They're so fun to write.

Anyway. Books.
Book #9 - Tithe (The Modern Faerie Tales #1) by Holly Black - Wow. I'd read this originally back in 2009 and decided to pick it up in preparation for reading the next 2 in the series as part of a challenge read. I loved this. Gritty and dark and fabulous in one little book.
Book #10 - Valiant (The Modern Faerie Tales #2) by Holly Black - Why did I put this book off for so long? Love!
Waiting on Wednesday - Shadowfever - Already pre-ordered, babies. I can't stay away from Barrons!

Okay. I'm in the middle of a fun Zombie-themed YA novel. Must get back to it now.
Later.
