Sometimes I can't believe how incredibly self-centered kids can be. Cole just sat up in my room talking on the phone while I was downstairs putting the sheets on the sofa bed so he could use it. Does he have a perfectly good bed of his own in his own room that already has sheets on it? Yes. So why the fuck am I doing this for him when he can't even be bothered to come downstairs and help. At all. And when we went out to dinner with the family this evening, Mr. Pouty Pants was an absolute booger. He didn't want to eat where everyone else was eating so he didn't eat at all. Arrgh! School can't start soon enough for me.

Okay. I feel much better now that I've vented.

I read today.
Book #70 - The Message in the Hollow Oak by Carolyn Keene - Yeah, I picked up 2 Nancy Drew books at the library. Sometimes that's just what you need. Nancy heads out to Illinois to figure out if the legend of a treasure hidden in a hollow oak by a missionary in the 17th century is true. Amazingly, she solves this mystery (wow, I didn't see that coming) and helps out a passel of people along the way.

-and-

Book #71 - The Witch Tree Symbol by Carolyn Keene - Nancy heads to Pennsylvania to track down some stolen antique furniture, reunites an Amish family and solves an old mystery of a farm plagued by misfortune. Along the way she's accused of being a witch. Poor Nancy. It turns out she's not a witch. She's just a mighty fine detective.

These two books were much better than that last one I read. I am pleased.

It smells like smoke tonight. I'm fairly certain it's from the fires in the Santa Cruz mountains. Fairly certain.

I'm going to watch something brainless and idiotic. Because I can.
Later.

That is an interesting question. I do not have an answer to it. I should have just left it, but I didn't. I still don't have an answer.

Indeed.
