oddmonster threw down the gauntlet on book reading and I had to pick that up. So. Another book.
Book #35 - Dead and Gone (Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire Mystery Book 9) by Charlaine Harris - I swear that book titles are getting longer every day. Sooooo ... Book 9. I read some luke-warm reviews for this book so I kinda went into it with mediocre expectations, but I really enjoyed it. There were some things that got tied up from previous books that I wasn't expected to be addressed so soon. It was almost surprising. As usual, Sookie finds herself in the middle of mayhem. There's blood. There's guts. There are vampires and shapeshifters and Fae. There's blood drinking. There's sex. Honestly, it was everything I thought it would be. I'm definitely not dissatisfied. Book 10 comes out in October. Or thereabouts. Woot!
We're supposed to be climbing close to 100F here in the next few days. That's not great. I prefer cooler weather, but whatever. We have central air. I'll live through it. However, that probably means that I'm going to be doing even more reading. Be warned. Heck, I only have to catch up on last night's shows (which I will be doing as soon as I'm done here) so there's not much on the TV front for me.
Okay. It's too hot to sit here anymore. I have the window open all the way and ... it's hot. Maybe the wind will kick up again and blow the heat away.
Yeah. Sure.
