Ahhh, Sunday. Sadly, it's the last day of my vacation. Boo. It's been raining on and off all day so Cole and I stayed in and were very, very lazy. Besides finishing my next book (and I'll get to that in a second) I really couldn't tell you what we did today. Wait. I'm having a memory ... Stargate Atlantis. I have things to say about that also!
Book #28 - Dark Possession by Christine Feehan - I wasn't terribly invested in this book in the beginning. I've read all the other books in the Carpathians series (this is the 18th) and I've enjoyed all of them and yet, for some reason, this book seemed ... I don't know how to describe it. The main character, Manolito, was nearly killed in the previous book and this one opened with him in the spirit world of his people being tormented by something evil. Ehh. Eventually, his lifemate (MaryAnn) figures out that he's still alive and that he's bound her to him and that her formidable psychic powers make her a prime target for the vampires. Somewhere in the middle of the book I realized that I was way into what was going to happen. In the spirit world we get to meet the former Prince of the Carpathians and learn about the great mistake he made that began the downfall of his people. The book ended up being very, very good and I'm looking forward to the next in the series.
Now onto SGA! This season has been excellent. I thought Friday's episode was very good and I wasn't at all expecting Michael to be the bad guy. I was looking toward the Replicators and suddenly Michael's there and he's all ... I don't know. Hot? Connor Trinneer plays him as something almost tragic. He never asked to have his DNA altered. Although the Atlantis team never intended it, they've made him an outcast amongst his own kind. It's no wonder he's all screwed up and trying to create a master race. One race to rule them all. Ha! Anyway. This season has been awesome and I'm totally looking forward to having it on DVD so that I can watch, watch and rewatch. Word!
I totally meant to get some reviews up at
blabapalooza but I was just ... lazy. I seriously have several that are ready to fall out of my head. I just need to sit down and let them tumble. Maybe I'll do that next. Or maybe I'll watch the Pokemon movie with Cole. :)
Wish me luck at work tomorrow. :/ I'm a little afraid. Who knows what crazy stuff happened in my week off.
