One of Cole's friends from school came over today because, well, there's no school. Originally he was going to stay the whole day but his aunt wants to pick him up before noon to go downtown and watch the parade... Ooh! Return of the King is on! Anyway. I don't know what Cole and I will do for the rest of the day. Maybe I can talk him into shopping. Yeah, right.

I've been sitting at the computer for an hour, thinking that I'd update some of my sites. Yeah. Like I said ... I've been sitting here for an hour. Nothing's been done, although I did put a lot of thought into the thinking portion of our show. I mean, what? The point of all this? I put a new layout up at Bay 12 last night and added a couple of icons. Now I'd like to reorganize some of the icon catagories but it seems like a lot of work and I'm lazy.

So, here are the icons I made last night.

1. 2. 3.
4. 5. 6. 7.

I kinda like this set. I think I did a decent job cropping and I've decided that River is my favorite Firefly subject. Word.
Let me know what you think.

Wow. I just got completely sucked into RotK. I'm so weak-willed.
I'm off.

Thank you, Deb! You never know how the cropping's going to turn out until it's done. At least that's how it works for me!

TV DVD Buyers: A Different Breed

The sudden explosion in sales of DVD collections of television shows has brought about a study of TV DVD buyers. The study by Home Media Research and VideoScan indicates that they are typically women who shop at mass merchants and are more affluent, younger, and have a bigger library of DVDs than average DVD buyers. The TV DVD buyer usually buys 25.4 DVDs per year, compared to 17.8 by the average DVD buyer. Of the 25.4 DVDs, four were TV DVDs. The average collection of a TV DVD consumer was 100.3 discs versus 71.9 discs for other DVD buyers.

(the point. so the average amount of purchased dvds is 25 a year? the fuck? and of the 25, 4 were tv dvds? seriously, i've over stepped my tv dvd buying 10 fold. thanks x-files and six feet under! average? you said it was a good size!! sorry, mallrats.)

I think I've had a couple of months where I bought 25 in a month. Plus ... 4?!?!? Wtf? I've bought 4 a month some months. And, as you pointed out, X-Files threw my whole average out of whack. Dammit.

(since you already know who dies, and maybe found the time to watch. cuz i think i read it somewhere, you had a day off or something)

So Lost's going to kill off one of the characters tonight, is it? Who could it be? Could it be Sawyer, who keeps collapsing as the Tailaways trek to the other side of the island? Could it be Cindy or Libby or Abby or Gabby or whoever the hell that Tailaway is who suddenly disappears? Or could it be the character the show spends an hour makin' all sympathetic? Well, as sympathetic as you can make a spoiled princess. When Shannon's rich daddy dies and she gets no money, she stops being spoiled by her heartless stepmom, and is forced to make it on her own. And we all know how that turns out -- with her scamming her stepbrother by taking advantage of his feelings for her. Shannon, please let us know when we're supposed to feel sorry for you. Sayid's definitely on board the Love Shannon Express, having spent a few minutes making her the nicest tent on the island, and he tells Shannon he loves her. So much for Nadia, I guess. Shannon sees Walt again and goes chasing off into the jungle after him, in yet another of her You-Think-I'm-A-Joke?-Well-I'll-Show-You storylines. And she sees Walt again, and this time it appears that Sayid sees him too, although I'm not convinced that Sayid didn't just say he did, trying to calm a hysterical Shannon.
The Tailways' journey involves MacGyvering this amazing stretcher to carry Sawyer, and Michael finally asks what happened with the Others, and Ana-Lucia says the Others snatched up many of the crash survivors, which doesn't really tell us a lot, since that's kind of what we guessed, isn't it? Anyway, Ana-Lucia says the Others are dangerous, and one bullet in one gun ain't gonna stop them.

Maybe she shouldn't have mentioned the gun, because everyone knows that when you introduce a gun in the first act, it must go off in the third. And when Shannon goes running off into the bushes again, that single bullet from an on-edge Ana-Lucia is certainly enough to send a gut-shot Shannon back into the arms of her redemptive new love. Sayid no like Ana-Lucia. Sayid no like Ana-Lucia at all.

Well, I still haven't watched it, but I do know who kicks it. Word.
