I almost didn't journal tonight because I've been feeling a bit on the boring side lately but then I finished my book and I HAD to post. HAD TO!
Book #10 - Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires Book 1) by Rachel Caine - I've been trying to find new authors to stimulate my mind and I decided to give this series a try. Now, I went into it with the idea that I'd only buy the first book in case I didn't like the way the author wrote or the general story line or whatever. Well, that didn't turn out so well because the damn book ended on the hugest of huge cliffhangers and now I need to know what's going to happen next. I NEED TO KNOW! So. The plot? Well, Claire's a super smart 16 year old who's convinced her parents to let her attend college. The only thing is that her parents think she's too young and don't want her moving too far away. So they send her to Texas Prairie University in Morganville, TX. The thing they don't know is that Morganville is a town ruled by vampires and anyone who can't claim protection from one of the vampire houses is fair game to be hunted. Claire ends up escaping the dorm bully (who's a psychopath) and meeting a group of other outcasts who show her the ropes. It was a remarkably fun read and I'm completely looking forward to the next book. :)
I just have to say that I have a 3-day weekend coming up and it can get here none too soon. It's been a damn long week. Especially when you consider that over the last two days I've only worked half days at the office. Sadly, it wasn't for any fun reason but rather for meetings and teller interviews and helping out at another branch. *sigh* Like I said, I'm desperately looking forward to this weekend.
I'm going to watch Cole play Zelda. Because watching him is fun.
