Book #36 - Agents of Light and Darkness by Simon R. Green - I'm kinda assuming that this is the second of the Nightside books, but I'm none too certain about that. Anyway, John Taylor is contracted by various agencies (angels from above, angels from below, the Vatican, the authorities, etc) to find the Unholy Grail before the Nightside is destroyed in the search for it. Cue John's gift and some ominous music. A few tantilizing clues are dropped as to what his mother is and John is warned (as per usual) to not bother looking for her. Actually, there aren't too many answers given about his mother, but she DOES get mentioned a couple of times. Anyway. This was a good, quick read that built on the first book and kept the action coming.
I slept like the freaking DEAD last night. I was also having a weird dream about a deserted city and a salamander that could be squished like silly putty. I'm not quite sure why that last part was important, but it totally was. Plus, have you ever seen a salamander bounce back into it's original shape after being squashed? It's quite a sight. Also, the salamander was my child (yeah. just... yeah) and was pregnant with a half human child. I'd like to announce at this point that I didn't watch any TV/movies/etc last night and I went to bed at 9:00. Therefore, I have no idea where all that came from.
The fam is heading out to Amb and Phil's in a bit for a barbeque. Yummy.
And finally, I put up a new layout at Moon-Spun. This is truly momentous since that layout hadn't been changed in over a year. Yikes.
All you moms out there ... Have a very nice Mother's Day.
