I just got back from my all day conference (don't you just wish that you, too, could listen to the ins and outs of banking ALL DAY LONG?) and I think I'm still on a sugar high. I put so much sugar in my (first) cup of coffee that by the time I got to the bottom of the cup the sugar had declared itself ruler of a small country and was beginning to form alliances with other countries to form a superpower regime that would TAKE OVER THE WORLD! See what I mean? Sugar high.

So, without further ado ... LOST! 3.01
1. I loved the opening scene. Apparently everyone did. This is not a bad thing since the scene was AWESOME! Watching the plane break apart in midair was ... riveting. Chilling. Downright creepy. The set-up of the scene with the music and Juliet was so wonderfully reminiscent of the season 2 opener with Desmond and I thought it worked perfectly.

2. Although there are some who might think I'm crazy *cough[livejournal.com profile] jenahvillecough*, I dig the thought of Kate and Sawyer together. Poor Kate looked so terribly fragile when she was put in the cage. Like maybe the only reason she wasn't breaking down right then and there was because Sawyer was watching.

3. One of the thoughts I was having while watching (it's therefore slightly unformed and probably won't make much sense to anybody else) was that the three of them were each being given different stimuli so that their reactions could be recorded. Kate was given the creature comforts of a bath, clean clothes and a hot meal before being broken. Sawyer was treated like an animal (bears ... polar bears ... ooooh) by being caged and forced to work for his fish biscuit. Jack was subjected to the "let's break his spirit completely and make him beg just so we can walk away".

4. Kate being forced to wear the dress was incredibly creepy to me. Ugg.

5. Dharma bottled water! Hee!

6. Jack's flashbacks were hard to watch. I liked them, they were just slightly cringe worthy. Stalker!Jack! Creeeeeeeppppppy.

That's pretty much all my thoughts until the re-watch. Needless to say, I completely loved the episode and hope that the rest of the season holds itself up to this level.

I've almost finished my first week at the new branch. Yay! Also, I've finished the iPod task I set upon myself. All songs have been listened to in 2006!
I'm out!

Yeah, Jenn thinks were crazy, lol.

Your number 3 makes a lot of sense actually. I hadn't thought of it that way but it makes sense. Different scenarios for each of them.
