Within these walls ...
I don't have a whole lot to say today except that I cracked open my Epic Werewolf Masterpiece this afternoon and did some serious editing on it.
By the numbers:
I closed out my original manuscript (before any re-writes or editing) at: 104,354 words.
As of today I'm at: 106,106
This includes nearly 3K words cut (rewritten and then expanded) on big scenes (which are currently sitting happily in my "Outtakes" file) plus the little cuts I made that I didn't save.
The big scene re-writes are making such a huge difference plot-wise. Seriously, I'm so much happier with the characterizations and overall mythology of the book now. My main characters have so much more flow that I'm absolutely thrilled with them.
So, there you have it. I wrote today.
Yay!
And now I'm done.
