I think I'm finally on the mend from this ass-kicking cold. I've reached the "coughing gunk up" stage. Surely that means that I'll be able to sleep through the night soon and not have to gag my way into the bathroom to try to blow my nose so that I CAN BREATHE! Right? Right? Anyone? Yeah, sure. It means that I will sleep through the night tonight.

Despite the cold, I've managed to more or less finish creating my room. The book case is stocked. The DVDs are alphabetized. The closet is still coming along. That's mostly because it's the holding area for my half-emptied boxes that are making their way up from the storage area in the garage. I still have pictures to hang, but that'll happen.

Cole and I are watching The Dark Knight at the moment. [livejournal.com profile] jenahville stopped by earlier today and we watched Hellboy 2. That movie was completely awesome. Over the last few days (what with being sickly and all) I've also watched The Fog (original version), Prince Caspian, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, Star Wars Clone Wars and ... a few others. They're starting to blur together at this point. Seriously, when you're up at 2 in the morning because you CAN'T BREATHE, any movie seems like a good idea. Oh, that's how I ended up watching Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End 3 times. It just kept being on one of the HBOs and there was that whole lack of sleep thing and ... 3 times.

Okay. It's 9:15 on New Year's Eve and Cole's already asleep. He is so my kid.

I think I want to do a year in review! Because 2008 was a pretty good year.

2008! Yay!
January
I posted an entry every day for the last two months of the year. Yes! It was fun. You know how I do like having my little projects.

February
Uggh. I worked from 9 this morning until 7:30 tonight. Say what you will, that's a damn long day.

March
I just watched Nancy Drew. What a cute movie. It was supposed to be a movie that Hailey and I could watch that wasn't scary. However, Hailey fell asleep in the middle of it and I ended up pretty much watching it alone. *shrug* What can I say? I liked it.

April
Thank all major and minor deities! I finally finished another book. Good golly, I'd best get back to reading or I'm going to fall behind!

May
My allergies are trying to kill me today. I think they're affecting Cole as well because I had to pick him up early from school today. He has itchy eyes and a headache. Which is what I'm dealing with at the moment. It's awful. Blech.

June
Book #48 - Zinnia by Jayne Castle - Technically, I read this yesterday but I had already turned off my computer and didn't feel like turning it back on to add it to my list of books I've read. *nods*

July
Book #59 - Crystal Singer by Anne McCaffrey - Wow! I'd forgotten how easily I can get lost in her books. Something about them drags me in and holds me under. In a good way.

August
Look! It's Friday night. Cole decided to spend the night at his dad's. Hailey wanted to watch a "scary movie" with me but then wandered off half-way through.

September
OMG! [livejournal.com profile] jenahville, [livejournal.com profile] kimbrchick and I watched all of season 1 of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles! LOVE! I have at admit that I'm a little obsessed with that show at the moment.

October
Book #98 - The Seeress of Kell: Book Five of the Mallorean by David Eddings - This has got to be one of the most satisfactory endings to a series that I have ever read. Love it.

November
Book #113 - Living Dead In Dallas by Charlaine Harris - The second (?) in the Sookie Stackhouse series finds Sookie doing a favor for Eric that involves her being beaten to a pulp and nearly killed. And then she goes to a orgy. Because that's how you should do things.

December
I opened up lj last night and sat here staring at the blank screen. I had nothing. Nothing. I so rarely have nothing to say that I didn't know what to do with myself. So, I went to bed. Isn't that great? No? I didn't think so either.

You know, there are a lot of book reviews up there. Hmm.

That? Didn't nearly hit all the high points. I bought a house. I freaking bought a house. I can't even think of what else I did this year because that outshines them all.

Christian Bale is pretty damn hot.

I'm out.
Have a great New Year!
