I am having a PHENOMENAL couple of days at NaNo. Like, I can hardly believe how much I'm writing. It's completely awesome. But before I get to that, I have some random tidbits that I feel must be shared.
Tidbit the first: I participated in an online group bookchat this evening for a book I read earlier this year but which I'm planning on rereading this month (because the last book in the series is coming out and I want to be happily caught up). Okay, it was for the Vampire Academy series. After the chat was over I thanked the moderator for hosting it for us. Now, this is someone that I have random interactions with through Twitter every now and again. She thanked me for joining in and said that she always enjoys my insights. I laughed at that because my insights involved such things as:
I like that @RichelleMead created such a well-defined world. #VBC03 (okay, that one was decent!)
Umm... Dimitri's hotness personified. Alternately, the hair. *nods* #VBC03 (hahahahaha! I am deep!)
@VampBookClub Agreed. I like Adrian, but I want Rose to end up with Dimitri. #VBC03 (Not as shallow as my previous post)
@VampBookClub Dude. The Lust Spell was HOT! #VBC03 (And my shallowness returns)
@VampBookClub What Victor had Natalie do for his cause broke my heart. The fact that she did it at all made me angry. #VBC03 (Okay, something deep this time)
Maybe my insights weren't as shallow as I thought. There were a ton of people chiming in all at once during this chat so it was hard to keep up at times but it was a blast. An absolute blast.
Tidbit the second: Oh, screw the second thing, let's just move on the the NaNo stats.
Like I said, I had a great writing day. I think I closed out last night at 9,123 words. As of right this moment I'm at:

I'm still hoping to finish the night at 12,500 but the words are coming very easily so I'm not terribly worried. Hell, I hit that number while taking an hour long break for a bookchat and and hour long break for a liveshow from one of my favorite authors. the words, they are begging to be written.
Now onto bookish stuff:
30 days of books... Day 52 - Eventually I'm going to run out of books on this list, you know. Not any time in the near future, but eventually. Today's book gives us Gothic boarding schools and an otherworldly heroine.
Waiting on Wednesday - In Too Deep - I used to read Jayne Ann Krentz books like they were going out of style. I've fallen out of practice recently, but I think I could get behind this one.
So there you have it.
Books, writing and shallow Kel.
Later.
